Now in its second full season (2024-25), the Seasons of Joy concert series evolved from a "mini-season" during the first half of 2023, featuring three concerts. To date there have been 21 concerts in the series and we have featured local "in-house" musicians at Joy Lutheran, local groups Uniqulele and the Amazzing Steel Drum Ensemble, the Gainesville Brass Quintet, and other major artists like Thomas Keesecker and Eirinn Abu.
There is something for everyone to enjoy this season. All concerts are free (with a voluntary love offering) and usually have a reception following the concert so attendees can meet the performers. Planning for the 2025-26 season is well underway and we are excited about the guest artists we have coming.
Love offering collections from the annual Christmas concert have been allocated to local or regional charitable organizations like Wear Gloves or the Good Spirit Foundation. Love offerings from all the other concerts initially went to funding the JOY handbell choir expansion project. The expansion project was completed during the 2023-24 season and collections are now used to cover the costs of the series itself - artist fees, supplies, reception costs, and so forth.
All concerts are free and open to the public.
