Melissa Daniels

Handbell Director

Melissa Daniel graduated from Jacksonville University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. She has been involved with handbells since high school, beginning as a ringer in her church ensemble. During college, she was a floating substitute ringer for First Coast Ringers in Jacksonville, Fl. Over the years, she has performed with several ensembles on both clarinet and bells, and has directed two church youth bell choirs. She has been directing the Joy Handbell choir since September 2020, in addition to performing multiple handbell solos over the years.

Melissa currently resides in Oxford, FL with her husband, Silas (Joy’s pianist/organist) and their four children. She volunteers as the Youth Bowling League Coordinator at AMF Leesburg in addition to her job as the League Records Specialist for three AMF bowling alleys in Ocala and Leesburg.
